No, the surface qualities of Aqua Board do not allow for a plaster skim.

Can I use skrim tape in a taping and jointing process?
Siniat recommend a full paper tape reinforcement at board joints using Siniat Joint tape . This will provide the strongest joint treatment and minimises the risk of cracking. Siniat Patching tape is recommended for patching up small, damaged areas.

Can I use Siniat Intumescent Acoustic Sealant instead of the taping and jointing process, when boards don't need decoration?
Siniat have not tested internal drywall systems with the plasterboard joints treated with our intumescent sealant . As such, for Siniat to warrant system performance, the board joints must have the tape and joint process or a reinforced joint skim finish applied. Does Siniat sell skim plaster?
No. Siniat does not manufacture skim plaster. However, third party skim plaster can be used on our boards as an alternative to taping and jointing. Refer to skim manufacturer's guidance for application details.

Can I skim Megadeco Board?
If Siniat Megadeco is already installed and a skim finish is desired, then the board needs to be primed to accept that finish. Can I apply Siniat Drywall Sealer or Universal sealer with a spray machine?
Both the Siniat Universal Sealer and Drywall Sealer are recommended for hand application only.

What is the shelf life of Siniat Smartmix?
The shelf life of Siniat Smartmix is 9 months from the date of production. The bucket is printed with the production date and time.

What is the coverage of Siniat Smartmix?
Siniat Smartmix can cover approximately 50m2 for a full taping operation or 135m2 for just a finishing coat.

What are the maximum tile weights for Siniat boards?
When considering a tile finish the framing substrate should be reduced to 400mm maximum centres. What tape I should use when applying taping and jointing finish on Siniat Aquaboard?
With Siniat Aquaboard, the board joints are reinforced with the Siniat Joint tape as other boards. There is not a special tape in this case. The difference that does exist is with the jointing compound. Only Siniat Aquamix can be used for all stages of the joint on Siniat Aquaboard. Can a render be directly applied on Siniat Weather Defence board?
Siniat Weather Defence is not suitable to receive a direct render finish. The only product in the range that is suitable for such a finish is the Bluclad product. There is a BBA associated with Bluclad and Weber Rend and general guidance can be found in the Bluclad brochure.
