What screw fixings should be used for Moisture resistant plasterboards?
Siniat supply a range of screw fixings to secure plasterboard to stud frames.
High thread screws are used for fixing to a timber substrate,
Self Tapping types are used where the gauge of the metal substrate is upto and including 0.7mm (Rx, B and P gauge),
Self Drilling types are used for metal of 0.9mm to 3mm (W and Y gauge)
Performance screws are used for the dense boards (dB, Megadeco, Universal, LaDura)
Wet Area screws for external applications of Severe humidity environments, (Weather Defence, Aquaboard)
For moisture resistant areas, wet area screw variants are not necessary, the normal screw range can be used assuming you select the correct type based on board density and substrate.
