Could I install cable penetration through head track?
It is recommended cable penetrations avoid framing components and penetrate board only. The hole should be as tight as possible with Siniat Intumescent Acoustic Sealant to seal the hole to the cable. For partitions without deflection heads the cable should be installed with enough slack to allow it too drop below the head track and pass through board only.
Where there is a deflection head, all penetrations should be below the flat strap in that detail. This is due to the movement of components above the flatstrap.Depending on the deflection allowance this could be up to 245mm below the soffit.
