What fire rating does Siniat Fire Board give?
A plasterboard product on its own does not provide a fire resistance rating. Fire resistance refers to how a complete construction (such as a wall, lining, ceiling, or floor/ceiling build‑up) performs in a fire test, including its ability to resist collapse, prevent fire spread, or limit heat transfer. This performance depends entirely on the full tested construction, including components, installation, application, and load condition.
Siniat Fire Board can be used within constructions that have been tested or assessed for fire resistance. The performance achieved varies with:
- Application type (e.g., walls, linings, ceilings, floor/ceiling assemblies)
- Load condition (loadbearing or non‑loadbearing)
- Construction build‑up (board thickness, layers, structure, fixings, jointing, installation)
Fire resistance values apply only to the specific full construction that has been tested or assessed. Details are provided in Siniat’s published test reports, assessments and technical literature.
Separately, Siniat Fire Board has a reaction to fire classification, which relates to how the board material itself contributes to fire growth and is published in the product’s Declaration of Performance and supporting documentation.
