Can I use Siniat Intumescent Acoustic Sealant instead of the taping and jointing process, when boards don't need decoration?
Siniat have not tested internal drywall systems with the plasterboard joints treated with our intumescent sealant . As such, for Siniat to warrant system performance, the board joints must have the tape and joint process or a reinforced joint skim finish applied. Is Siniat Intumescent acoustic mastic compatible with cPVC products?
No. Siniat have been advised that the Siniat Intumescent Acoustic Mastic is not suitable for use with cPVC products as per the Lubrizol assessment. The only solution within the Etex group is to use the Promat Promaseal HPEx Sealant to seal penetrations by cPVC pipework through Siniat plasterboard systems.

What is the application temperature range of your Fire Rated Silicone Sealant?
The Fire Rated Silicone Sealant should be installed when the ambient temperature is between 5 and 35 degrees. It is recommended to allow the product to acclimatise if stored in a cold area first.

What depth of Promat HPEx Sealant is required around cPVC sprinkler Pipes to Non-Fire Rated partitions?
For Non-Fire rated partitions, the depth of Promat HPEx sealant is as per the depth of plasterboard on each side of the partition. This will be a minimum of 12.5mm or 15mm for single sided partitions as this is only creating an acoustic seal in these locations.

Can you use Siniat Universal Bonding Compound against a plastered background?
Siniat Universal Bonding Compound is not recommended to be used on a plaster background (painted or unfinished). Are there products in the Siniat range to improve mechanical key on smooth surfaces and prime high or low suction backgrounds?
No, Siniat do not have products for these applications. The substrate must be clean of all contaminants and dust free. Very low suction backgrounds may require mechanical fixing system.
